Hamed Rashtian

Hamed Rashtian is an artist and sculptor born in 1984. He entered Shahid Beheshti University after completing design courses at Jihad Association to study mathematics and later withdrew. While studying, Rashtian turned to learning sculpting and worked on it for a year and a half under the supervision of Shojauddin Shahabi. Mojtaba Ramzi, Ramin Saadat and Parviz Tanavoli were among Rashtian's professors.

Hamed Rashtian has the experience of making sculptures with different materials from bronze to fiberglass in his career and he learned how to work with bronze under the supervision of Parviz Tanavoli. Hamed Rashtian has created most of his works with an eye on the contemporary cultural mix and especially the middle class living in Tehran. At a different stage in his career, Rashtian was inspired by architecture and pottery. He also created the "Scratch Mark" collection with six lion sculptures based on the topics of psychology and inner anger.

In 2007, Rashtian received the honorary award of the biennial of Tehran sculpture and a certificate of appreciation from the fifth biennial of Tehran sculpture. Rashtian's works have been exhibited in galleries such as Etemad and Aran and in Berlin, Dubai, England, America, Christie's and Tehran’s auctions. Many of Hamed Rashtian's works have been placed in public spaces such as Lavasan Sky Center, Fereshte Book City and Valiasr Street.
